Quick answer
Vietnam Embassy Legalisation in Singapore — What Changed in September 2026?
From 11 September 2026, a Singapore document apostille for Vietnam from the Singapore Academy of Law (SAL) replaces consular legalisation at the embassy of Vietnam in Singapore, because Vietnam is now part of the Hague Apostille Convention. Before that date, a Singapore document went through SAL and then the embassy. If you searched for "Vietnam embassy legalisation Singapore", the apostille is now the route to ask about.
SAL is the only competent authority that legalises Singapore documents for overseas use, and every document it legalises carries an apostille. Government documents SAL can verify go straight to SAL; private and company documents need a Notary Public first.
Because the switch is so new, we suggest one simple check: ask the office, employer or agent in Vietnam to confirm in writing that an apostille is what they want. We'll prepare the document to match.

Why Documents for Vietnam Get Delayed
Old instructions from the receiving side
A checklist written before September 2026 may still mention embassy legalisation. We help you confirm the current requirement before any fee is paid.
No Vietnamese version
SAL does not translate. If the office in Vietnam asks for Vietnamese, we arrange it through our translation and apostille service.
Company documents without a notary
Board resolutions and POAs are private documents — SAL only apostilles them after notarisation. We arrange the Notary Public and SAL authentication together.
Laminated certificates
SAL cannot apostille a laminated original. We help you get a fresh extract, or an apostille on an SAL-made copy if copies are accepted.
Digital documents with a faulty QR code
The printout must match the online version exactly and the QR code must scan. We test it first.
