Quick answer
Can a Singapore Court Order Be Apostilled?
Yes — a court order apostille in Singapore is issued by the Singapore Academy of Law (SAL) for court orders, judgments, custody orders and grants of probate, as long as SAL can verify the copy through a physical endorsement, a QR code or confirmation from the issuing agency. If SAL cannot verify the copy you hold, a Singapore Notary Public notarises it first and SAL then authenticates it. For countries outside the Hague Apostille Convention, embassy attestation follows the SAL step.
We look at your copy and confirm which route applies before you pay. If the notary route is needed, see notarisation and apostille.
Why Court Documents Get Turned Away at SAL
A copy SAL cannot verify
SAL has to verify a court document through a physical endorsement, a QR code or the issuing agency. If your copy has none of these, we route it through a notary — for example as a certified true copy — before SAL.
A digital court document with a faulty printout
For a digital document, the printout must match the online version exactly and the QR code must scan. We print, test and check before we go — see digital document apostille.
A laminated original
SAL cannot put an apostille on a laminated document. We tell you whether a fresh copy from the issuing agency is the better route.
The wrong document for the overseas authority
SAL does not advise which document you need, so confirm with the overseas court, lawyer or registry which order or judgment they want. Send us their request and we match your documents to it.
Not in English
SAL accepts documents in English or bilingual with English, and does not translate. If the destination asks for its own language, we arrange translation and apostille.
