Quick answer
Is a Same-Day Apostille Possible in Singapore?
A same-day apostille in Singapore can be possible — but only when three things line up:
-
1
The document can be verified by SAL, or notarised, that same day.
-
2
It reaches us before 11:00 AM
so it can be submitted while the SAL counter is open.
-
3
The SAL counter is open that day
Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 4:30 pm. On the eves of New Year, Chinese New Year and Christmas it is open 9:00 am to 12:30 pm. It is closed on weekends and public holidays.
The SAL counter works on a walk-in basis with no appointment, and fees are paid online by card. Embassy attestation in Singapore for non-Hague countries depends on each embassy's own timeline — we give you a realistic timeline for that part.
For standard timelines and all document types, see our SAL apostille service in Singapore.
What Stops a Same-Day Apostille
Arriving after the cut-off. SAL closes its counter at 4:30 pm (12:30 pm on the eves of New Year, Chinese New Year and Christmas). Documents that reach us after 11:00 AM move to the next working day.
A laminated original. SAL cannot apostille a laminated document. A fresh extract from the issuing agency may take longer; an SAL-made copy can work if your receiver accepts copies.
A digital document that won't verify. The printout must match the online version and the QR code must scan. See digital document apostille.
Verification through your SingPass or email. If only you can verify the document, you need to be at the SAL counter yourself. We tell you upfront so the day isn't lost.
A private document with no notary booked. Company papers, POAs and private school certificates need a Notary Public first — see notarisation and apostille. We arrange an urgent notary when possible.
