Quick answer
Which Gulf Countries Need Embassy Attestation?
Arabic translation and attestation in Singapore follows one of two routes, depending on whether the destination is in the Hague Apostille Convention. The UAE, Qatar and Kuwait need embassy attestation after SAL; Saudi Arabia, Oman and Bahrain accept an SAL apostille alone.
Embassy attestation after SAL: the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait and Egypt are not in the Convention. Your document is apostilled by SAL, then attested by that country's embassy in Singapore. See UAE embassy attestation and Qatar embassy attestation.
Apostille only: Saudi Arabia (since 7 December 2022), Oman and Bahrain accept an SAL apostille — no embassy step. See apostille for Saudi Arabia.
Where the Arabic translation fits: SAL does not translate and only legalises documents in English or bilingual with English. When an Arabic version is needed in Singapore, the route is certified Arabic translation with a translator's declaration → Notary Public → SAL apostille → embassy (non-Hague countries).
Your Gulf employer or authority may want the Arabic translation done in Singapore, or done locally after the document arrives. Confirm with your employer, sponsor or PRO first — we check their instructions with you before you pay.
Why Gulf Documents Get Delayed
Translation done at the wrong stage
If the Arabic translation is added after SAL and the embassy, it carries no attestation. If it is done in Singapore when the recipient wanted a local translation, you pay twice. We agree the stage before we start.
Missing the embassy step
A Singapore apostille alone is not enough for the UAE, Qatar or Kuwait. We add embassy attestation in Singapore after SAL.
Names that don't match your passport
Arabic transliteration of names can lead to queries. We translate names as in your passport and check every date and number.
Private documents without notarisation
Employment letters, experience certificates and company documents need a Notary Public before SAL. We add that step when required.
Deadline pressure
Each embassy sets its own days and fees. We tell you the realistic turnaround upfront — usually 5–10 working days — so you can plan around your offer letter.
